The Clinical Laboratory scientist performs a variety of laboratory tests, which may be complex and involve numerous steps and techniques. Tests may be performed in hematology, urinalysis, transfusion service, chemistry, coagulation, serology, and microbiology. Professional application of the principles, theories and techniques of laboratory science are used to produce reliable test results, which aid the physician in diagnosis and treatment. The Laboratory Scientists are accountable for accurate results employing proper use of Quality Control materials. They must recognize the interdependency of tests and the conditions that may affect the results. They are expected to correct their own errors. They must maintain and make small repairs and adjustments to a variety of complex instruments. They may be responsible for the work of others in the absence of a supervisor. They are required to continually update their knowledge. They must comply with all applicable law and regulation.

Under the direction of the E.D. Nurse Manager, and the R.N. on duty each shift, the E.D. Technician is responsible to: assist in the flow of the E.D., assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care, ensure the E.D. is clean, orderly, and well stocked, and transport patients as directed by the E.D. R.N. on duty. Additional duties may include patient registration, and communication with other Glenn Medical staff members, Dispatch, EMS personnel, and other facilities within the CNA Scope of Practice.
The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who provides direct and indirect patient care in the Glenn Medical Center Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse is responsible for accurate patient triage, performance and coordination of patient care, and performance of standard Emergency Nursing procedures. The R.N. is also responsible for supervision of the E.D. Technicians and any other Glenn Medical Center Nursing Staff who may be assisting in the E.D., including Licensed Vocational Nurses, Medical Surgical CNA’s, and other Glenn Medical Center R.N.’s. The E.D. R.N. is expected to utilize critical thinking skills to detect or prevent changes in patient condition, and to communicate in a timely, collaborative manner with the physician and other staff members in order to provide optimal patient care.
Per Diem Housekeeper position available. Must be available to work all days/shifts as assigned, due to the needs of the hospital. Previous housekeeping experience required, preferably in a hospital or similar environment. Chosen applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with outstanding customer service skills. Must have ability to overlap and be a self starter; self accountable and able to work without supervision.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides physical and emotional care and education of the patient and family in accordance with the philosophy and standards of Glenn Medical Center under the direction of a Registered Nurse. These services further the mission of Glenn Medical Center, which is to provide high quality medical care to the people of Northern California.
The Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, prioritizing, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care for a group of patients on the unit. The nurse is accountable for cooperation with the unit management in the coordination of patient care and services. The RN is responsible for overseeing the LVN, and/or the CNA on duty and as such will be the Charge Nurse for the unit.When multiple RN’s are scheduled for any given shift, Nursing Administration will assign the role of Charge to the RN best suited for the role.
