At Glenn Medical Center, we believe in treating the whole person. There is a mind-body connection in which physical illness can sometimes be a symptom of an emotional or mental condition. We want to help people struggling with family or emotional difficulties achieve a comfortable and productive lifestyle, which is why we provide inpatient and outpatient counseling services. Our licensed clinical social worker, Darlene Cheryl, trained in psychotherapy, uses numerous techniques for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and emotional conditions and is available to help connect people to resources for assistance. These services are not only for a single patient, but may involve families and groups of people as well. We provide supportive counseling for:

We are committed to utilizing the most effective evidence-based methods to assist our clients in achieving a healthy and productive life. One such method is therapy groups. If you are interested in therapy groups please contact Darlene Cheryl at 934-1820. Darlene Cheryl, LCSW, received her Masters of Social Work from California State University Sacramento in 1970. She has practiced at Glenn County Mental Health, Colusa County Behavioral Health, Colusa County Counseling Center, Colusa County Home Health, Sacramento Valley Family Services and the California Medical Facility in Vacaville. Darlene is a Board Certified Diplomate in Social Work, trained in Bioenergetic Therapy, Hypnosis and is EMDR Certified. She has provided counseling services at Glenn Medical Center since 2007. Outpatients do not need a Dr.’s referral to make an appointment and employee assistance program clients are welcome. Inpatients are seen with a Dr.’s referral, usually to help with the transition from hospital to home or to a care facility. We work with the referring physician to aid in treatment and continuity of care. We also provide follow-up consultations at Willows Care Center.
